Sep 14, 2020 | Events, News

The Facades Advisory Panel of the European Fire Safety Community is releasing the third episode of its Podcast called “The Facades Files”. This third episode is titled “Investigating ventilated façade systems under fire conditions”.

In this episode, we exchange with Eleni Asimakopoulou, who is a researcher in Fire Engineering at the University of Lancashire. She presents to us her experimental investigation on the performance of a ventilated-façade system under fire conditions. Together, we also reflect on what her experimental investigation could mean for regulations and standards.

The Facades Advisory Panel is a high-level group which brings together FSEU Community Members to work on the topic of facades fire safety. Its objectives are to:

  • Discuss the latest evolutions on facades;
  • Compare regulations and standards;
  • Exchange views on new technologies;
  • Be informed of the European Commission’s Fire Information Exchange Platform work on facades;
  • Get regular updates on the development of a European approach to assess the fire performance of facades.
