Brussels, April 10 2017: On 31 March 2017, Mark Leverton replaced Barry Lynham as President of Fire Safe Europe (FSEU).
“I am delighted to be taking on this role”, says Mark. “It’s an exciting time for the building industry and an important time for Europe as we innovate and renovate to ensure our building stock is energy efficient and sustainable for future generations. I firmly believe that the EU has the opportunity to champion sustainable building policies and practices – but if our buildings are to be truly sustainable they must be resilient to fire. I am looking forward to working with the team at Fire Safe Europe and our national partners to ensure that fire safety moves up the political agenda”
Juliette Albiac, Managing Director of FSEU, welcomed Mark to the team: “We are happy to welcome Mark as President of FSEU. He is joining a growing association that has become the main interlocutor of the European Commission and EU Member States regarding Fire Safety in buildings. Mark brings a new perspective to our Board and will be a great fire safety ambassador”.
Mark Leverton is currently Managing Director for Western Europe at Knauf Insulation. He leads Knauf Insulation’s businesses in France, Benelux, Iberia and Italy, where he has responsibility for more than 600 employees. He also holds responsibility for the export business into North Africa and South America. He has over 20 years of experience in the building materials industry, holding senior positions for several international companies in South America and Europe. Mark holds a Masters in International Marketing and is trilingual in English, French and Spanish. He is based in Belgium.
